How to operate a pit carburizing furnace correctly?
2024-08-27 09:22:12

Operating a Pit Carburizing Furnace correctly requires following a series of steps to ensure a safe and efficient carburizing process. Here is the operation guide:
1. Preparation
Inspect the equipment: Make sure the furnace body, heating elements, gas pipelines and sealing devices are intact.
Cleaning the furnace: Remove debris and residues in the furnace to ensure a clean working environment.
2. Setting parameters
Enter temperature: Set the carburizing temperature according to the material requirements, usually between 850°C and 950°C.
Set time: Set the heating and holding time according to the material of the workpiece and the carburizing depth requirements.
3. Atmosphere control
Connect the gas source: Make sure the gas bottle is firmly connected and check that there is no leakage in the gas pipeline.
Adjust the gas flow: Adjust the flow of carbon-containing gas as needed to ensure a stable atmosphere in the furnace.
4. Heating the workpiece
Loading the workpiece: When the furnace body is cooled, place the workpiece to be carburized into the furnace to ensure even distribution.
Seal the furnace body: Close the furnace door and ensure a good seal to prevent gas leakage.
5. Start Heating
Start the heating system: turn on the heating device, monitor the temperature rise, and ensure that the temperature rises according to the set curve.
Real-time monitoring: monitor the temperature and atmosphere status in the furnace in real time through the control panel.
6. Carburizing process
Maintain temperature: maintain the set temperature for a period of time to promote the diffusion of carbon atoms.
Observe changes: check the furnace conditions at any time to ensure that the atmosphere and temperature are stable.
7. Cooling treatment
End heating: after the carburizing time is over, turn off the heating system.
Remove the workpiece: open the furnace door and carefully remove the workpiece at a safe temperature.
8. Post-processing
Rapid cooling: cool the workpiece quickly (such as quenching) as needed to increase hardness.
Necessary tempering: tempering treatment is performed if necessary to improve toughness.
9. Recording and maintenance
Recording parameters: record the temperature, time and atmosphere data of each operation in detail for subsequent analysis.
Regular maintenance: regularly check and maintain the equipment to ensure its normal operation.
By following the above steps, you can safely and efficiently operate the pit Carburizing Furnace to ensure the success of the carburizing process and the improvement of workpiece performance.
